Zero TBR Update

Posted July 8, 2017 by Michelle in TBR / 3 Comments

As many of you know this year I have been endeavouring to achieve a zero tbr and since it has been a little while since I’ve updated you on my progress I though now would be a great time.

I’ve just recently done quite a big unhaul of both my read and unread books thanks to the help of the most amazing co-blogger ever, Ely. I had to be brutally honest with myself and really question if I was going to read/re-read the books I owned and I decided from their which books to keep.

This unhaul came motivated by  a documentary that can be found on netflix called Minimalism : A Documentary About The Important Things. The documentary talks about minimising the things in our life that really are not important or don’t bring us any joy and most importantly that things don’t bring us happiness.

I highly suggest watching the documentary I mentioned above and also watching Muchelle B’s channel whom I mentioned in my latest post on youtubers I watch.

Getting back into the zero TBR thing, let’s get the figures out there. At last count I had 93 unread books and the current count is now at…………………………………………………………………………….76!!

I am getting there slowly but surely and am pleased with the number I have achieved since this is the lowest TBR I have had in a few years.

Hopefully is I keep focusing on completing the books I own and accomplish my targets I can complete my goal.

…………………………………………………

If you are working on a zero TBR please let me know in the comments and if you have some tips I would love to hear them.

  1. WOW, a zero TBR? I wish you the absolute BEST of luck…I don’t know if I could minimalize my TBR on Goodreads…it currently contains 745 books that I want to read (And that’s AFTER cleaning it out!). Sigh. I think the good news is that I’ll never run out of anything to read though. And when it comes to physical books on my shelf, I suppose I could start there as a way to diminish my pile. I might watch that documentary though! I do have a surplus of junk I’ve been wanting to get rid of — my house feels crowded and I don’t like it!

  2. That is amazing progress. I really do need to work on my physical tbr pile. There is so many titles on my shelf that I’m excited to read that I just need to take the jump and read them.
