Back with another thesis talk post today! I’m thinking there will probably be another four or five of these, which sounds ridiculous once I tell you my thesis is due at the end of the month, but I promise there’s a good reason for it.
Today I had another meeting with my supervisor. She was giving me feedback on my second chapter, which I talked about last time. I ended up adding about another 2,000 words to what I originally had. But the good news is that it’s all fixed up and ready to be added to the final document when I get to that stage.
I’ve already started work on chapter three, and I’ve written 1,500 words of that already. I’ve got a week to finish it up and I’m feeling pretty confident about it. So tonight I’m spending my time getting some serious reading done so that I have all of my research ready to go for the rest of the chapter when I sit down tomorrow afternoon and get out some more words.
I’m focusing on two particular books so I thought I would share them with you. So, here we go…
The Geek Feminist Revolution by Kameron Hurley
This final chapter is looking at science fiction, so I’m reading through this for some quotes to apply to sci fi and feminism. I’ve already used a few, so this is turning out to be a much better resource than I’d imagined.
Disability in Science Fiction by Kathryn Allan
I feel like the title pretty much tells you how perfect this is for my thesis. I’ve skimmed this in the past, but I want to read a little deeper into this now that I know where this chapter is going.
Of course, there’s a bunch of other stuff I need to read, so I better get to it!
