So the other day when I was tenderly looking at my bookshelf as I so often do, I had a thought (I know dangerous, right?) . Why don’t I try and read 10-12 books this month? Small for some people but for me that is HIGH. My aim is to read 100 books for the year which I’m actually hoping to do before December so this will really give me a boost but only if I am able to do it, PLEASE SEND FORTH THE MOTIVATION!

So I really didn’t have much of a theme with the books I picked out this month other than my Paranormal Picks tbr and the buddy read book for #4CornersBC so everything else is just a bit of a mess, but hopefully a good book month type mess.

Here are the books :

Bone Gap by Laura Ruby-  This is our #4CornersBC book of the month and I can not wait! It’s supposed to be a little creepy and I am really interested in the story, also that cover is to die for. Just waiting for it to arrive in the post so I can jump in.

Carrie by Stephen King-  I am buddy reading this one with my brother (more in a later post). This will be my second Stephen King book and I am pretty excited about it. It is also a Paranormal Pick book.

Night Owls by Jenn Bennett-  I needed some contemporary in this tbr because I had so many books with the same themes going I need to break it up a bit. Been hearing amazing things about this book and have high hopes.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas-  I have mentioned on the blog before that I have yet to read this series, so this month is my time to give it a go. I need to read at least the first 3 books before I go to her signing later in November.

OCTTBR1

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas-  Hoping to continue on from Throne of Glass this month also as I said before trying to get them done by the signing.

The Runaway King by Jennifer A. Neilsen –  I read The False Prince, first book in the series nt long ago and it surprised me a lot. So I bought it and the sequel and now I’m keen to get into this one. They are fairly small so I feel I can get through it.

The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson- Another Paranormal Pick, this is the sequel to The Name of the Star which I re-read earlier in the year so I can get back into the story and finally continue the series.

OCTTBR2

Star Cursed by Jessica Spotswood- It is seriously well overdue for me to read this book, I think I have owned it for well over a year. So I have added it to my Paranormal Picks tbr in aim of FINALLY reading it.

Cry Blue Murder by Kim Kane and Marion Roberts-  I am 90% sure this is an Aussie mystery/crime book and it’s one of the smallest books I own that I have yet to read so I should get onto it and finish it in a day because it is written in facebook posts, emails, police statements etc which is super cool.

Legend by Marie Lu- This is another one of those series in which I cringe because I am the last soul on earth to have read it. In a recent post Ely mentioned how fast paced and good it was and it was from them popped onto my TBR.

Paranormalcy by Kiersten White- I don’t know too much about this book besides there being like every paranormal creature ever in it and I have heard some decent things. It sounded corny and fun and since it fits right in with Paranormal Picks, I’m going to give it a go.

OCTTBR3

So, what’s on your TBR this month? Do you have anything planned or are you just going to wing it? Have you read any of the books I plan to read, if so, what did you think?

Hope you all continue to have a lovely week and I’ll be back with more post soon 🙂

  1. Good luck with your TBR! I’ve been meaning to read Bone Gap for ages, ever since I saw Aentee’s amaaaaazing review of it over at Read At Midnight. Throne of Glass is okay, but it really picks up with Crown of Midnight 🙂

Thanks Emily 🙂 I saw the same review and it was also one of the things that convinced me to pick the book up, really looking forward to it.
Oooh good to know that I might have to persevere with it.

  2. Ooh, you have some GLORIOUS books on this stack! 😀 Crown of Midnight is like my favouritest book ever and Night Owls is SO FUNNY. I love witty banter and it has it in abundance. Also I kind of want to read the Bone Gap. Only…I want to read it 90% because the cover and title are just intriguing and mystical and awesome and I have like no idea what the plot actually is. haha. COVER LOVE FTW. *ahem*
I usually don’t really plan out what I’m reading…but this month I’m DEFINITELY tackling the Tithe trilogy because I love Holly Black and I’ve wanted to read them for so so long! And I got out Tiger’s Curse from the library and my friend just sent me Fans of the Impossible Life! SO MUCH AWESOMENESS. 😀

I usually have a love hate relationship with planning a tbr. I love to plan them but for some reason hate to finish them, it’s like my brain switches gear and is like NOPE you ain’t reading any of these. I am super determined this month though.
I am soooo excited for everything in this stack!!! Bone Gap is just beautiful looking and that is totally all I needed to buy it so I am with you there. If it is good I’ll definitely keep you informed.
I haven’t read the Tithe trilogy but love me some Holly Black so I think I’ll see what you think before picking it up. Her spiderwick chronicles was like my fave growing up.
Don’t you just love the excitement and possibility of books 🙂
