It’s that time of the month again! No, not that one. It’s time for our regular feature—Last 5 Books on our TBR, the July edition! Without further ado, let’s get into those books.
Surfacing by Margaret Atwood
Anyone who’s been watching my videos lately will know about my obsession with Margaret Atwood. 2017 has been her year for me, so I added a bunch of her books to my TBR recently. Now it’s just a matter of finding them all.
Girlhood by Cat Clarke
Honestly, the word ‘girlhood’ sucked me into this. I love books about feminism and female friendships, and I’m hoping this will be one of the positive ones.
One of Us: Conjoined Twins and the Future of Normal by Alice Domurat Dreger
With my thesis I’ve been looking at the idea of ‘normal’ a lot, so when this came up in one of my searches I added it to my TBR straight away. I don’t know if this is even in print anymore, but I’m hoping I can get my hands on it one day.
Lucky in Love by Kasie West
I love Kasie West so I saw this on my Goodreads feed and instantly added it. There is no way I’m going to miss this!
If There’s No Tomorrow by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I haven’t read a JLA book in ages and I feel like the hype about her has died down a lot. This one sounded cute and maybe I’ll never actually pick it up, but for now I’m interested.
Doing It by Hannah Witton
I first found out about this book through Ely, she mentioned that Hannah was a youtuber that spoke a lot about sex. This book Doing It talks about sex in a way that schools should really be talking about it, a helpful and educational way. I think this would be a good read because I’m very interesting in learning more about sex ed but also because this book has such a lovely design on the inside.
The Curated Closet by Anushka Rees
I learnt about this book through studying minimalism and learning how to cut so many possesions from my life. This book tackles the wardrobe and fashion side of minimalism and talks about developing a personal style and capsule wardrobes. I am waiting for this to arrive for me at the library.
The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin
I’ve seen this book floating around for a while and now that I’m on a non-fiction binge I am pretty interested in giving it a read…also I found it for a dollar. This book follows the author Gretchen as she challenges herself to take on tasks people say will make you happy, for a whole year.
Mafiosa by Catherine Doyle
To be honest I’ve had this on my tbr for a while buuuut now it’s on my tbr even more ( is that a thing) because I just finished the second book in this series and this is next in line. I love these books, they are thrilling the main character is cool and it’s full of hot italians.
Killer Instinct by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
I am not even finished the fisrt book in this series but already want to read the second one. I had to kind of have my hand over the screen when I added it to my tbr so not to get spoilt. The things I do guys. Anyway this series follows teenage criminal profilers and is really cool so far.
What’s been on your tbr lately? Have you read any of the books we mentioned and if so did you enjoy them?
