If you read our last post you would know that we went to Clunes Booktown Festival, a (mostly) secondhand book festival in Clunes a small country town of Victoria.
Today we will be sharing with you what we bought at said festival, a mini haul if you will.
I only bought two books at the festival but I am quite happy with my purchases and the fact I didn’t go overboard considering my goals of a zero tbr.
You all know by now that I am a huge fan of Rick Riordan’s writing so when I saw this book about 5 minutes into Clunes for only $4 I jumped at it.
This book focuses on Egyptian mythology and I haven’t heard as much about it as his other series I am keen to read this one because I’ve always been interested in Egyptian Mythology.
This book is a DIY book that I have had my eye on for literal years. This book has always been so expensive though and I could never justify the money for it before but yet again I was struck with luck and saw this for $5 couldn’t believe my eyes and grabbed it.
I also only bought two books at the festival, but Michelle gave me a book she was no longer interested in so I’ll be sharing all three with you today.
The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood
I have fallen in love with Margaret Atwood after reading The Handmaid’s Tale for the first time last month. As a result, I’m on a new mission to own and read every book of hers possible. There were a few of her books at the festival but this was the one in the best condition and the one I was most interested in. I’m hopefully going to read this next week!
The Geek Feminist Revolution by Kameron Hurley
This is the one Michelle gave me because she wasn’t enjoying it. I love essay collections, especially about feminism. I’m talking about science fiction and the role of women as part of my thesis, so I’m hoping this might help me with that a little.
Letters Home by Sylvia Plath
Some of you might be aware of my love for Sylvia Plath, so when I saw this there I had to buy it. I own almost everything by Sylvia Plath now, so I’m excited to add this one to my shelf.
