Books I’ve Bought Recently

Posted July 5, 2017 by Michelle in haul / 3 Comments

I may have been absent in the book blogging world recently but I have not been absent from the book buying one. I have been buying quite a variety of different books and have even scored some bargains. If you have read any of the books I mention please let me know what you thought of them, especially if it’s one you think I need to pick up ASAP

Non-Fiction and e-books

Don’t Let Anything Dull Your Sparkle by Doreen Virtue is a book I found whilst perusing Big W the other day and it took my interest. I have been reading a lot of non-fiction recently and this book really appealed to me because of the tagline “break free of negativity and drama” this is something I NEED in my life and I look forward to seeing what this book has to offer.

JUMP and Your Life Will Appear by Nancy Levin is actually the first e-book I have ever purchased! I’ve never been into e-books that much but something convinced me to give it a go and I downloaded the kindle app onto my Samsung. This book was within my price range and sounded like the type of self-discovery blah blah that I have been reading lately. I’ve actually already read this and for me it was just an okay read.

YA and NA

I went op-shopping a few days ago as I often do and had a pretty decent score in which I found both Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan and Ice Kissed by Amanda Hocking.  Amanda and Rick are two of my most read authors and these were the books I next needed by each of them so I was quite lucky.

I did a naught naughty thing and made a Book Depository order and I got two books in Abbi Gline’s Rosemary Beach series, these were One More Chance and You Were Mine. I find these books addictive and guilty pleasure reads that are usually pretty  quick for me to get through so I look forward to getting into them hopefully this month.

Graphic Novels and Adult Fiction

You would have seen in the Last 5 books post that I recently bought Wonder Woman volume 3 : Iron by Brian Azzerello, well to make myself complete I also purchsed volume 4: Guts and they are so so beautiful and I am probably going to get stuck into them right after this post. This series has a bit of a twist to the original origin story of Dianna.

Next I bought two Agatha Christie books that I found at some local Op-shops. These were The Murder at the Vicarage and One, Two, Buckle my Shoe. I don’t really know what these books are about but I made it a habit to pick up any Agatha Christies books I find in an op-shop so I can build my collection. I blame all of this on Ely.

What books have you purchased this month and have you read any of these?
